Don't let the Great Recession get you down! As the economy recovers and retools, America's built landscape will be transformed. Key drivers will include demographic changes, preference changes, and energy and sustainability policy. Much of the residential stock and nearly all nonresidential structures will be replaced within a generation. Dr. Arthur C. Nelson will identify the mega trends and how they will help bring about the transformation of America's built landscape. A question and answer session will follow Dr. Nelson's presentation. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Dr. Nelson is Presidential Professor of City and Metropolitan Planning the the University of Utah, where he directs the Metropolitan Research Center. He is known nationally for his pioneering work on identifying and assessing the implications of American mega trends. His work has appeared on the covers of USA Today and The Wall Street Journal, and has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and CBS Evening News. Newsweek magazine has hailed Dr. Nelson's vision of rebuilding American's built landscape as second among the top ten most important national trends to watch.
