Course Description:

Students in this course will study the principal achievements in Islamic architecture 680-1600 AD/CE, understand these achievements in their social/cultural contexts, become familiar with the vocabulary and basic methodologies of the field, and consider the historical evolution of our knowledge and understanding of this architecture. This course is identical to NES 403; Near Eastern Studies is the home department.
